One of the issues we're dealing with that I can't seem to get a grip on is our stinky water lines. A few months back I cleaned the tanks, replaced all the water lines, and ran a bunch of bleach through everything. I thought it worked great.
Then about a month later we were right back where we started.
The lines split off in the engine compartment and one set goes to the kitchen sink where there is no problem at all. The other set goes the same distance to the bathroom sink right across the hall from the kitchen sink. And right before it hits the bathroom sink it tees off to the shower. It's these two that smell like a skunk's butt.
I just can't understand it because the lines all emanate from the same place. These are also the lines that caused us to replace everything in the first place. We just can't shake it.
If we run about a gallon of water through the lines the smell goes away only to come back after a few hours. The lines don't run through any heat source. The problem is with both the hot and cold water so what we originally thought may be the culprit, the hot water heater, doesn't appear to be it. Especially since it doesn't happen in the kitchen. The lines don't run near or have anything to do with the toilet. Basically they are no different from the kitchen lines or the line running to the outside wash down, both of which are fine. I just don't get it.
A couple weeks back Ali thought it would be funny to teach Ouest my name. I think because it is so close to Papa she really took a shine to it. She now splits it about fifty-fifty with Papa.
"Hey Ouest it's time to eat."
Or, "Ouest, I would like you to share that with your brother."
All day long it's, "Why Pot?"
Her talking has really come along the past few months, but I suspect outsiders probably still wouldn't be able to decipher half of what she says. It happens to us too. Last night she kept pointing to Tigger in one of her books and saying, "Tunny."
I guessed honey, tummy, get in my belly, Tiger, and at least a dozen others before her little lower lip began to quiver. God I felt horrible. Then the second I said, "Oh honey, don't get upset," the tears began to fall. It has to be so frustrating for her when she is certain she is saying something just as clear as day, but nobody can figure it out. Things only got worse when I called Ali in and she couldn't get it either. I can deal with her crying from falling down or being mad at Lowe, but crying over something like this breaks me down.
This is the detritus from just one cockpit locker. I'm happy to report that a lot of that ended up in or next to the garbage bin today. Including a couple of way undersized dock lines, some beach buckets, and especially those stupid rakes that come with the beach buckets, thirty feet of chain, and a NAPA Auto Parts basketball.
A while back we started seeing bushes everywhere with little berries on them. Ouest was naturally curious and was always picking at them so we told her that they were for the birds to eat. She took this to heart and decided it was her duty to help the birds eat. She doesn't walk past a berry bush now without plucking a few off and laying them down on the sidewalk so the birds can get a quick meal.
