And Hamilton Island Race Week is a big deal in the sailing life of Australia. Everybody but everybody goes to “Hammo,” the gem of a resort in the Whitsdunday Islands of Queensland that, officially, remains the Challenger of Record for America’s Cup 35. But the clock is ticking on that. Otherwise, you could figure that the world would be paying a lot more attention to the races that begin on Tuesday and run through August 27.
